ℹ️ This function is only available when the project uses the Molio standard.
With a project-wide building part specification (PFBB), you write shared content once and reuse it in other building part specifications. You only write the content that differs.
Derive a building part specification
- Go to Spec → Manage.
- Open the context menu on a Molio building part specification and choose Derive.
The original document becomes the PFBB, and a derived copy is created in its place. The copy includes variables and notes, but not the history.
How derived documents work
- Each section in the derived document shows the content of the matching PFBB section.
- If a section is added, renamed or deleted in the PFBB, the change carries through to all derived documents.
- In a derived document, you can't add, delete or rename sections.
Override a section
When a section in a derived specification needs different content from the PFBB:
- Open the derived specification.
- Open the context menu on the section and choose Toggle PFBB section override.
- Write the content for this section.
An icon in the section tree shows which sections are overridden. To return to the PFBB content, choose Toggle PFBB section override again.
Note: A PFBB section can't be deleted while a derived document overrides it, and the PFBB itself can't be deleted until its derived specifications have been deleted.
