When project details and building information are copied into many separate documents, every change has to be corrected everywhere. In SPEC, the information is entered once, and every specification refers to it. Choose the path that fits your project.
Path A: Projects using Molio (Denmark)
ℹ️ This path requires the Molio standard.
- Start from Molio. In Manage, click Add Molio documents and choose From Molio to add a document (you receive a bundle, so delete the extra document you don't need), or From file to import an existing .moliospec file with all its sections, control plans and structure.
- Write once for many building parts. Open the context menu on a building part specification and choose Derive. The original becomes a project-wide building part specification (PFBB). Derived documents show its content, and you only write the sections that differ. See Project-wide building part specifications (PFBB).
- Insert project information as variables, and link the model's types under Related Objects.
- Review each section through Draft, In Review and Approved.
- Deliver in the Molio format. Select the documents and choose Export selection to Moliospec.
Path B: Projects with your own structure (international)
- Set up your structure. In Configuration, select the None standard and add the disciplines, contracts and document types your company uses.
- Build the document tree. In Manage, add documents and place them under each other with Parent or by drag and drop. A contract set on a top-level document is inherited by its child documents.
- Write in sections and insert project information as variables.
- Link the model's types under Related Objects. In Objects, the Spec properties then show which documents each type is used in. See Spec document informations on objects.
- Review each section through Draft, In Review and Approved, and follow the progress in Manage Specifications.
The result
When the client, the project phase or a building part changes, you update it in one place, and every specification that refers to it follows.
