In Spec → Manage, you see all the project's specifications in one place. You write each document section by section, with project information that updates itself and a clear status on every section.
1. Create a document
- Go to Spec → Manage and click Add Document.
- Enter a name and, if needed, choose a Parent to place it under another document.
- Click Add.
Open the document's context menu and choose Edit to set type, discipline, contract, responsible people and delivery date. See Managing your specifications.
ℹ️ In projects that use the Molio standard, you can also add documents from Molio. See Importing and exporting Molio specifications.
2. Build the sections
Click the document name to open it in the editor. Click Add top section, or choose Add subsection in a section's context menu. Sections are numbered automatically. See Managing sections.
3. Write
Select a section and start typing. Your changes are saved as you type. See Working in the editor.
4. Insert project information instead of typing it
- Open the Variables tab below the editor.
- Drag a project variable, such as the project name or client, into the text.
When the project information changes, every specification follows. You can also link the model's types to the document under Related Objects and use them in the text. See Using variables and related objects.
5. Review and approve
Set each section's status to Draft, In Review or Approved. Use the Comments tab to discuss the text, the Note tab for internal notes, and the History tab to see who changed what. See Section notes and comments and Section history.
