Models are the starting point for all your work in NTI COMANAGE. Once a model is synchronized, its objects and data are available in the modules. All project users can add and synchronize models.

Choose how to add your model
| Model | How to add and synchronize it |
|---|---|
| Revit file (local or on Forma) | From the Revit add-in |
| IFC file (local) | Add Local IFC on the Models page |
| IFC file on Forma | Add From Forma in the same split button on the Models page |
Revit files must be version 2024, 2025, 2026 or 2027. To use files from Forma, your company must have set up the Forma connection, and you must be signed in to Forma from the profile icon in the top bar.
Add and synchronize a Revit file
- Download the Revit add-in from the i icon in the top bar and install it.
- Open the file in Revit and click Synchronize on the Add-Ins ribbon.
- Sign in with your NTI COMANAGE credentials.
- If the file isn't connected to a project yet, select the project.
- Go to the Upload tab and click Upload.
The file now appears on the Models page. To update the data later, synchronize again from Revit. See Synchronizing Revit files.
Add and synchronize an IFC file
- Go to Models and click Add Local IFC, or open the split button and choose Add From Forma.
- Select the file.
- Open the file's context menu (three-dot icon) and select Synchronize.
See Adding IFC files to your project.
Choose what to synchronize
For Revit files, a default set of the most common categories is used, so you can skip this step. To choose the categories yourself:
- Open the file's context menu on the Models page and select Import Settings.
- Select a preset or choose the categories, then click Save and Close.
- Synchronize the file again.
💡 Selecting all categories makes synchronization slower. See Set up categories for the synchronization.
Keep track of your models
- Version Status on Overview shows if a newer version of a model is available on the Forma hub.
- The Models table shows the file version, when the model was last synchronized, by whom, and whether it succeeded.
- Log in the context menu shows who changed what in the model setup, and when. See Model history log.
