You can create IFC validation rules directly in COMANAGE without importing an IDS file. This gives you more flexibility when you want to define project-specific checks yourself.

Before you start

The Validate module must be enabled on the project.

How to create an IFC validation rule

1. Go to Validate.
2. Open Validation Rules.
3. Click Create IFC Rule.
4. Enter a name and description.
5. Define the filters that identify which IFC elements the rule should check.
6. Add the requirements the selected elements must meet.
7. Save the rule.

The rule can now be added to a model check and run against IFC models in your project.
