As Project Administrator, you prepare a project so your team can start working: you add the people, decide what they can access and make sure the right models are in place. You do this in Project Settings (the gear icon in the sidebar, only visible to Project Administrators) and in Project Home.
1. Add users
- Go to Project Settings → Users and click Add User.
- Enter one or more email addresses.
- Select Project Admin for colleagues who should also manage the project.
Invitations are sent automatically. See Adding users to your project and Access levels.
2. Create roles
Roles decide which modules and submodules each user can access, for example whether they see Configuration. Roles are also used when views are shared and to control who can edit property values.
- Go to Project Settings → Users, and click Add Role on the Roles card.
- Assign the roles to users in the user list.
See User roles.
3. Set project units
Choose the unit system, measurement scale and number of decimals before the first Revit model is synchronized. See Setting up Project Units.
4. Prepare model synchronization
- Import presets: save category selections, for example one per discipline, so the team synchronizes the same categories. See Using Import Presets for synchronizing.
- Shared parameters: if you will push data back to Revit, upload your shared parameter file. See Shared Parameters in COMANAGE.
5. Add models
All project users can add and synchronize models in Project Home → Models. See Add and synchronize models.
6. Set up the modules
Each module has its own setup, done by users whose role gives access to it:
Optional: API access
Give other systems read-only access to the project's data with an API key. See API access to COMANAGE.
💡 If your account has a project template, much of this setup is already done when the project is created.
